Deregistering your address when you move out of Germany or to another city.

Public/statutory health insurance. Mandatory for employees earning below €77,400/year. TK, AOK, Barmer, DAK.

Kindergeld
Child benefit. €259/month per child (2026). Paid to all residents with children, regardless of income.

Broadcasting fee. €18.36/month per household. Mandatory even without a TV. Register within 2 months of Anmeldung.

German credit scoring agency. Landlords and banks request your SCHUFA report. New arrivals have no SCHUFA history.
